Hi there...
That is quiet a broad topic and there are many ways you can approach it. You can do a simple questionnaire based study where you could formulate a questionnire which will give you the information you need and present it graphically or statistically. Or a complicated correlative study where you compare the ideologies of new physiotherapy students of 1 st year to those of final year students regarding Obesity. That way you will be able to find out whether students had any idea about obesity and how the view changes after being educated about it.
Its a very interesting topic. And will provide some really useful information...
Good luck.
Thanks guys for the reply.
Actually there have been many studies done in this are but none has been done to test Physiotherapist attitudes.I am going to employ a quantitative paradigm ie using numerical values and statistics to collect and analyse. But my problem is how to formulate a research problem and questions.
I look forward to your advice.
Thanks.
I know your pain- I'm in the middle of my research project at the moment!
The way I came up with my question was to basically read a lot of research on my area and look for the gaps in the research, usually if you just read the limitations of a study you can come up with endless possibilities! It sounds like you have an idea of the broad question, just needs refining.
Have you looked on the net for "forming a research question"? try one of the search engines- there is tons of stuff on writing research projects, that might be worth a try. Don't forget your question may change as you develop the project, my last dissertation question/title (for my undergraduate degree) changed up until I handed the thing in!
Hey Dapy,
Oscar is right, you need to do ALOT of reading before you get some idea of what question to formulate. Another thing you can do is get really into your research, thing of various starting points and work with it, for instance if you wanna start with collecting data, do so, if you wanna formulate your methodology also do so... It kind sounds confusing but somehow you will find your way around it and come out with what you need.
The only way to clean up a mess is to just start!!!!
Another thing you can do is tell us more of the things you have found out, be more explicit about your ideas and maybe we can guide you through it... Sometimes you need an outsider to see the sense in chaos. Or if you have a collegue you can talk to about it would be good.
I found talking about the research to someone else helps too, that way, through your own thought processing you find your answers.
Good luck.
Thanks guys for this laudable project(Physiobase forum),I will always count on you.As soon as I have a slightest cue,i will let you in for further advice.
Kind regards.

Hi,
I am looking for a good help in writing a research proposal that attracts my teachers at once, but don’t have any idea on what topic and how to write a research proposal on physiotherapy. Can anyone help me, how to attract your teachers for getting good grades? My friends has suggested me to but research proposal from topqualityessays.com, as they have tried this service and helped them a lot in writing a good paper.
Research proposals are quite idiosynchratic documents. A general approach is not the way to go. You should communicate directly to your lecturers and find out their expectations are. Remember students make money for universities so you are a customer. Ask for the service you need.
Definitely don't follow a general academic essay format. The document is usually not lengthy but rather is very to-the-point and answers succinctly all the questions required. The proposal should be a blue print for your research project. A researcher who read your proposal should know exactly what you will be doing in your research. When a good proposal is written you have basically all the key material that would appear in an article up to the half-way point
Intro - all the main points but often quite truncated. It should include your the problem you are trying to solve, a critical of the literature to date that addresses the area of concern and where it fails to address this, and your aim
Methods - exactly as you would write up your article at the end
Then there will be other sections not in the article such as your timeline (GANTT chart is good), resources (use of statistician, supervisors etc), budget
Then have your reference list
I suggest you have a good look at some physio-specific research texts.
I find this one good but there are others:
Portney, L. G., & Watkins, M. P. (2000). Foundations of clinical research: Applications to practice 2nd ed. Upper Saddle River, N.J.: Prentice Hall Health.
You may be expected to write a formal proposal but also present your proposal to a group of researchers. In which case you will need to prepare a powerpoint presentation to go with it. If you haven't presented at a conference before there are a number of rules to follow and either your lecturer or from textbooks, readings etc you should study those.
And the last thing - DON'T use one of these essay writing services. It is unethical, for starters and just plain sleazy. You are there to learn the tools of a trade not employ someone to do your work for you. If you want to get top marks earn them legitimately. And I can guarantee that if your academics are good at their job (and they should be if you want a bona fide degree) that if you try cheating with one of these services they will most likely catch you out. The penalties for not submitting original (plagiarism) work can be quite severe. I have had students do this and it is as obvious as hell that they got someone else to do it. This fits under the definition of plagiarism even though these services claim they don't plagiarise. Well they probably don't. It is you who is plagiarising using some else's work
