Band 5 versus band 6 uk

Hello

Could anyone explain to me the difference between the band 5 and band 6 in the UK?

I finished my degree in Portugal, in 2009, I have years o post-graduate experience, additional courses, but not a master in physiotherapy.
I think I am a band 5 physiotherapist, but I don´t know when I will be a band 6 physiotherapist.

How does happens the transition from a band 5 to a band 6?

Hi

In my opinion it depends in your ability to work independently without any direct supervision and to a more specialist level with some level of postgraduate education and extended skills. If you qualified in 2009 you should be well on your way to thinking about applying for a band 6 post especially if you have completed your core rotations. There is no direct progression from band 5 to 6 as they are separate jobs.
