Hi everybody.
I need advice.
I am Master of Physical Therapy(MPT). I obtained my degree in Poland, where i was working as a physiotherapist for 26 months, until I moved to London. Since October 2015 I have been working as live in care personal assistant in United Kingdom.
I have recently finalized professional diploma recognition and HCPC registration process.
I have previous experience (2 years +) in supporting a variety of patients ranging from children suffering from development problems to adults and the elderly affected by and recovering from injuries and movement disorders. till today i participated in number of trainings such as NDT Bobath, PNF and more.
All of that does not matter because i don't have experience from UK - so nobody is interested in employing me, but how can I get experience when nobody wants to give me a chance?
I am interested in physiotherapist position (but I have noticed there is no point of applying for physio position) so I would be happy to get physio assistant job or any other placement which may increase my chances to get a job as a physiotherapist in future. Ideal would be working along with pediatric physio as I have previous experience in this field but i would be happy to work in any field of physiotherapy (in London or South East England).
I would love to do volunteering in one of london's hospitals but I have no idea how to organize it.
I will be very grateful for any advice.
Can you help me?
Thank you.

Hi,
how long have you been looking for a job? Where? And what kind of jobs have you been looking for?
I think you'll find that the general job situation is not particularily flash in the UK at the moment. And probably hasn't been for some time. Have you tried to volunteer in a Physio Clinic/ School/ Child Development Service?
In my opinion - I would not employ a fully qualified and registered Physio as Physio Assistant. And as in that job you only observe others or engage in delegated tasks, I do not believe it will further your chances as a Physio.
Just keep on trying and maybe stay away from the major cities where competition for jobs will be intense. Apply for jobs as a basic grade Physio that include clinical rotations and in-house IST, such as band 5.
Good luck!
