Australia or Canada for Physio degree?

    Taping
Hi I am new to this forum but I joined because I have a few questions. At the end of this year I am going to graduate with a Bachelor in Education and Physical Education (with a minor in math) from the University of Alberta and I am debating whether I should take a degree in physiotherapy. Yes I know very well that there is an MPT program at the U of A but I kinda of want to move to Australia. So would it be better to take a PT degree in Canada or Australia? and should I take a Bachelor Degree or a Masters? I would prefer to take a Master as I already have a Bachelor degree but am unsure if I would qualify to take a Master of PT in Australia. Plus as a Canadian Citizen I am slightly unsure of the expenses, visas, and all that. In case you are wondering in my Bachelor Degree I took plenty of anatomy, physiology, Adapted physical activity, and human movement studies. I have about 3.5 GPA over my entire 5 year double degree so to my knowledge I should be able to qualify. Also if I took a year or two off to do some teaching can I still go back and get my MPT or will that be looked at badly? Sorry about all the questions hope someone can help me.

Studying in Australia, Canada, UK, or USA is normally acceptable as the credentials transfer in between. Just be aware of the ACOPRA (Aussie) PCE (Can) NPTE (US) exams for qualifying and their respective credentialling bodies.

Thanks. I looked some things up and if I stay in Canada I won't go to the U of A mostly cause I have spent 5 years there and I am ready for a change. I think I will apply the University of McMaster, University of Queensland, and U of T but I still have lots of time to decide. Another degree on my mind is a Master's in Exercise Rehabilitation at the University of Wollongong (I studied here a year aboard and loved it but unfortunately they do not offer physiotherapy).

Hey I did some research and I decided that it would be best to apply at UQ (University of Queensland), Bond university, McMaster University, and University of Alberta. I can get at least an MPT at all of these so I am excited!
