i had a seizure on April 12 and hurt my back. I was admitted to hospital that evening but it was only after 6 days of agony and constantly complaining of the pain that a scan was carried out. It showed a compression fracture of the L2. It is now August and the pain is not much better. I am constantly going in to spasm and wear a brace and use crutches for walking. While in hospital they showed little interest after the diagnosis as i was not in an ortho ward. They did not assess my home to make sure i could get about etc. I had to arrange all that myself after being discharged. They discharged me with no brace, crutches or advice of any kind of what i should or should not do. My consultant at the hospital is very abrupt and not keen on answering questions. However my GPs have been brilliant. One has arranged accupuncture for me just to try to alleviate the pain and only yesterday one referred me to a specialist back physiotherapist at the hospital (she had assumed that the hospital would already have done that). I'm quite scared incase in the six days it took to diagnose the problem that i've done damage to my back by trying to walk and get about without any devices to help me. Can anyone tell me how long this horrific pain will go on for and if it could have been made worse by the length of time it took to even scan me
