MTS-1: Introduction to Examination and Manual Therapy of the Spine.

“Advances in Physiotherapy Education” (APTE) & Dr.Kakkar’s Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Centre bring you MTS-1: Introduction to Examination and Manual Therapy of the Spine. A 5-day seminar emphasizing evidence-based manual physical therapy approach to the evaluation and treatment of spinal pain and dysfunction. Seminar will include – introduction to the science of manual therapy, principles of functional anatomy, joint biomechanics, and current evidence in treatment of patients with spinal pain and dysfunction. Participants will learn comprehensive evaluation of patients with spinal pain, within the paradigm of manual physical therapy. Special emphasis is placed on hands-on instruction in manual assessment and treatment techniques for the whole spine, including sacroiliac joints. Seminar will also include a brief discussion on the concept of spinal stabilization exercises and importance of “Back School”, in the management of spinal pain and disability. He also trained under Dr. Stanley Paris at University of St. Augustine, Florida, completing advanced certification in manual therapy. He furthered his training by completing fellowship in manual therapy with American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
