thanx physiobob.i m searching about role of ice for the same in acute cases.
Rather than be swayed by any diagnosis, heel and achilles pain needs first to considered to be a sciatic neuralgic event . It is rare in my own appreciation of non traumatic heel /achilles pain for these not be fully resolveable by attending to L5S1 and nothing else. Continuous mobilisation performed unilateraly at these joints will turn off protective behaviour leading to loss of irritation of the sciatic trunk . This will resolve most cases of so called retrocalcaneal bursitis.
