    Spasm Back of Head

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
    Hi all,

    I have a gentleman 46 years of age. He has referred pain going to the back of his head and pain radiating to the left arm( back of the arm) .He had Pins nad needle sensation gowing down the ledt elbow.
    -his pain referring to back ofhead started 6 months ago. and later experienced other pains
    Over few sessions his pain going to the arm has improved but there is no improvement inthe spasm at the back of neck!

    Tried giving Postural advice
    Passive mobilisations but mobilistaion aggrevated his pain
    - no spasm of muscles
    -complins pain at C8 and explaibs it has tight feeling

    any suggestions how can I help him

    Might just need more time and more treatment. You could desensitise some structures with some EPA? I usually find some retraction work, +/- extension and adding in cervical rotation (al la McKenzie) and some NAGs and SNAGs (Mulligan) help.

    EPA - Electrotherapy e.g. Interferrential, Ultrasound, Diathermy etc. It's a collective term for Electro-Physical Agents. You can read more on sites like Electrotherapy on the Web - Home Page
