still looking for treatment ideas. Is traction an option?
The Mckenzie method of assessment and treatment is a brilliant tool to help with any spinal conditions. Get some information on lumbar derangement syndromes(Mckenzie). In this catogory you are most likely to find your patients that present with lists. It is actually very easy to postulate a diagnosis, treatment and prognosis from the info you get from your Mckenzie assessment. I have had some very good results with this, and the best thing is that the patient is doing most of the work themselves rather than
letting the therapist do all the hard grafting!!
Good luck
is traction contraindicated after lumbar fusion?
Hi ara01,
Lumbar list can be there in the presence of acute or subacute disc problems. If it is acute condition, then you should not use traction. But if it is subacute, then you can use traction and depending on the clinical evaluation, you may decide the purpose of traction. This will guide you to set the parameters, position of patient, etc...
hi
is there any evidence back up for the comment of your's regarding acute phase and traction???
