    Hydrotherapy - recall

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
I am currently reviewing a recall system we have running for certain hydro. patients. It is aimed at conditions such as RA and AS.
Does anyone else have such a system which bypasses Drs referrals (after the initial referral) and if so what parameters +/- guidelines do you have in place?

    re: Hydrotherapy - recall

We have a review system in place. It is offered to patients with degenerative disease (RA,AS etc) who do not have either the facility or the ability to attend a public pool to maintain their condition. They are reviewed on dry land at 6 monthly intervals and their condition re-evaluated. If there has been a significant change, to the detriment, of their condition then they are offered a further course of Hydro. If their condition is stable they are not automatically offered further Rx. but they will be reviewed again in 3 to 6 months time at the discretion of their therapist. This system seems to have curtailled the number of "revolving door" patients (who are re-refered on the very day they were discharged) that all Hydro. Depts. seem to get.
