    Hi Sam,

    There is no such thing as Maitland's manipulation. The Maitland concept is a clinical philosophy that advocates clinical reasoning based mainly on clinical data while drawing from theory where available, possible and appropriate ('The permeable brick wall'). Although Maitland describes manual techniques in his books and some are inherent to the concept (eg the quadrant) any other modalities can be used as long as meticulous assessment of the patient and of the technique used is performed. This is of course in brief.
