Do you have neck or back pain? If so, you may be eligible to participate in a simple but potentially important research project evaluating the usefulness of a new scale for measuring your recovery. The best way to measure recovery from these conditions continues to be very unclear. We are hoping that a single scale can be developed and endorsed for use by all researchers who measure the course and influences on recovery so that future clinicians are able to compare apples to apples when reading new research.
The new scale has been developed by researchers at The University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario Canada) through extensive collaboration with people in pain and health care providers. We are now running a study to compare the new scale against existing ones, to determine which one actual people in pain prefer. The entire study takes approximately 10 minutes and can be completed entirely online. We collect no personal information from you, so there is no chance that your responses can be linked back to you. If you complete the study you are invited to send a separate email to the primary researcher for entry into a draw to win one of 2 Amazon gift certificates. To get started, simply follow this link and click on the big ‘START’ button: c-WhIP - SIRI study page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the primary researcher Dr. David Walton at [email protected].
