    Smile Tension Headaches- acupuncture- dissertation

    Must have Kinesiology Taping DVD
Hi, I am a 3rd year student, currently thinking about a dissertation topic. I'm thinking of looking into acupuncture for treatment for tension headaches. I wanted physio's opinion on their thoughts about using acupuncture as a treatment for tension headaches, and also what other popular treatments you use to treat tension headaches. As through my dissertation I want to propose a RCT comparing acupuncture against another popular treatment.

    Hope you can help.
    Thanks.

It would be interesting to see a comparison between regular acupuncture and trigger point dry needling

    Hi Lucy,

    Mulligan Techniques:

    Headache SNAG
Efficacy of a C1-C2 Self-sustained Natural Apophyseal Glide (SNAG) in the Management of Cervicogenic Headache - JOSPT – Journal of Orthopaedic & Sports Physical TherapySomething else useful: http://www.sld.cu/galerias/pdf/sitios/rehabilitacion/examination_of_the_upper_cervical_spine.pdf

If you havent heard of the Mulligan approach start reading now. Its very much a biomechanical-neurophysiological approach.
