Ihave a been thinking about how NSAIDs work and i have been wondering whether or not sometimes they are started too early. My therory is based upon the natural healing process. During the Lag phase of healing the essential requirements such as the phagoctyes, neutrophils, platelets, fibrin and the chemical mediators are released. I wonder whether we are preventing some of the healing process from occuring by starting NSAIDs on day 1. Would it not be better to let the Lag phase run its course before starting them. I would sugest day 5 after the injury. By stopping some of the early inflammatory process are we making conditions become a chronic problem or even a future weakness?? i would appreciate anybody elses opinion on this. I might just be talking rubbish. it is only my theory.

hi, Nsaids are cox-inhibitors (cox1 or cox2). try to google that, think there are enough infos. basically Nsaids inhibiting prostaglandins and other enzyms so no swelling and inflammation occurs.
