Deep Peroneal Nerve Compression?

Hi folks, i was wondering could i pick your brains.

Recently i have seen a client presenting with what seems like a compression of the deep peroneal nerve affecting purely motor fibres. i was wondering if anyone could suggest as to what may be the cause of such a compression in a client with no history of trauma or any pain whatsoever. also i am aware that the nerve can be trapped at the ankle deep to the inferior retinaculum however this does not seem to be the case as the tibialis anterior is also affected suggesting a more proximal lesion.

a very unlikely cause but i once had a patient with peroneal nerve palsy caused by a benign tumour at her fibula head,causing compression of the nerve. a small palpable mass was found and the diagnosis made by MRI. she was aged about 19 years.

interestingly... there actually did seem to be some, very small, mass that could be felt that wasnt symmetrical. this client is 18. i guess its referral on to their doc for further tests. thanks.
