Just wondering why you immediately think of internal problems?
Do you have any back problems?
Hello everyone,
For several years I have right sided iliopsoas spasticity. There is no mechanical reason (like prolonged sitting or persisted exercises). I have been doing yoga for three years and stretch it very well, but the effect is temporal. I have problems with my colon and feel pressure at the right ilium. I've heard that spasticity of iliopsoas can be closely connected to the internal organs problems.
Does anyone knows more information about that?
Thanks a lot.
Merry Christmas.

Hi,
Iliopsoas can get into spasm if there is some dysfunction of the low back or SI-joint. Spasm can also occur if there is a muscle imbalance. How are your synergists and agonists of iliopsoas? There is a dysfunction called psoas syndrome which also involves dysfunction of L1 or L2, spasm of piriformis on the opposite side and a SI-joint dysfunction. The lumbar nerve plexus which innervates iliopsoas also serve most of the abdominal organs. According to somatovisceral aspects there is a physiological connection between the ilipsoas muscle and internal organs. You need to find out if the primary cause is a somatic dysfunction or a visceral problem.
