hello friend,
just find the exact reason for vertigo - Ear prob, CS \ VBI- position their neck in neutral rotation while treating if the cause is VBI, irrespective of the cervical segment. If its Ear problem give them balance training.
Hi there, have a look on the google search engine; images search for epley manouevre. you should find loads of links to articles relating to Intermittent Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (IPPV) (or BPPV for Americans) look also for the Dix-Hallpyke test, which you should use to determine whether the problem lies with the l or r ear.
hope this helps
andy :-)
Cervical vertigo is a diagnosis of exclusion. So you need to establish that the vertigo is not being caused by BPPV, unilateral labrythine hypofunction or vertigo of central origin.Cervical vertigo presents with dysequilibrium lightheadedness, cervical pain, ataxia and limited cervical motion, make sure dizziness is not vertibrobasilar insufficiency There needs to be a relationship between the vertigo and cervical pain.Treatment is Atlanto -occipital distraction/or mobilisation of rotation between C1 and C2
