Hello,
I saw ur posting now only. You have to see whether it is a sensory ataxia or cerebellar ataxia.
If it is a sensory ataxia, gait training in parallel bars in front of mirror to compensate for poor sensory feedback is useful. Frenkel coordination ex's are valuable.
If the muscles are weak, weightbearing activities for upper and lower limbs with therapist assistance can be tried. PNF, rhythmic stabilization for proximal joints is also a useful tool
next time be sure to write the type of ataxia
Sensory Ataxia, I think. I ca stand easily and even walk with assistance, but that is it. On my own, I fall over. Please help me.You can reach me here: [email protected]. Thank you.

How do I find out which? I just know it is a balance issue.
Is there a clinic, somewhere, for treating sensory ataxia?
Hi,
U just stand with your feet together;cross your hands over the chest, touching the opposite shoulders;first stand with your eyes open and note down hw much you sway;then close your eyes nd again note your sway. If you sway more with both eyes closed and open, then it s cerebellar ataxia; if you sway more only with eyes closed, then it s sensory ataxia.
I sway more with my eyes closed. Then it is Sensory, right?
Ya it s sensory ataxia..It s better consult soon a neurologist or a neurophysiotherapist about your condition and treatment.
