Hi everyone!
I have a 56 years old male patient with left side stroke. He had stroke 19 months back and since than physiotherapy sessions 3 times a week. Very good ballance, trunk control in sitting and standing, poor proprioception and body perception on the affected side. At the moment he feels pins and needles most of the time on lower and upper limp.It has started 3 weeks ago. PT is able to feel low temperature. When ice is beeing applied on extensors PT's arm relaxes and fingers are opening. Is it typical for stroke patient to have sensory deficit for such a long time of the time? I assumed that it depends on severity of stroke. Are there any other ways of stimulating patients sensations? I'll be grateful for any more information.
Thanks.
