    Wilson's Disease

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I have a current client who has shown little change during Physio intervention. Does anyone have any recent experience with Wikipedia reference-linkWilson's Disease? Is maintenance therapy more appropriate than rehab?

    Wilson's Disease

Looks very complex to me, I don't have any experience with this but would like to know more. What area do you work in? What do these people present with to you? I found some info on the net but not much(nothing) physio related. I make up they get neuro symptoms.

yes i have a current experience about wilson's disease.....its true that maintenance therapy is more important than rehab. i got a patient name sayani baidya..age 12+/F suffering this problem from last 8-10 month. during her treatment, i experienced that relaxation technique is more important to maintain the position and posture. To reduce hyper-activeness, u can use sedative , otherwise due to hyper activeness , rigidity more increase...and result will be anterior dislocation of shoulder , fracture of some bone or injury of some joint....or muscle or ligament . To avoid torticollis maintain the position of neck......and do the proper exercise and stretching .
use cock-up splint to maintain hand position and use L-splint or night splint to maintain ankle position....proper positioning of spine to avoid scoliosis and kyfosis. maintaine sitting position 2-3 hours twice daily.......try to neck flexion by some external stimulation like ipod, book to maintain the length of neck extensor.....and relax the body.

medication is very much important , in case of sayani ...Artamin, zinkomia, syndopa, pacitan are used to treat her

If anyone have more knowledge about this disease please share.......or ask me if i know or experienced i can share.
