Hi I hope someone out there could possibly give me some info.
Ill try to be brief.

Trimalleolar Fracture Aug 09 - ORIF - Plate, 12 pins ans 2 cal screws. Mild CRPS - Plantar Fac- Have not been painfree since!
had planned surgery yesterday as xrays have shown a non-union on the Tibia fracture. Due to have ORIF, Hardware removal on Fibula side and possible bone graft. NWB in cast 6 weeks!
To my surprise when I woke I was told that the Tibia Fracture has united and all they did was remove all the hardware and removed some bone on medial malleolar as there was a pronounced boss(?) Very groggy whilst told this,,,,
OK so now I am home and not sure what to expect I was all set to have physio etc.. I have been advised to keep elavated for 5 days in a boot and crutched for 2 weeks WB as tolerated.
So my questions are: In anyones experience what should I expect after 2 weeks?
Pre-hardware I was still have issues with going down the stairs and had a pronounced limp at times of bad pain. Should I still be ensuring I get back to physio so I give myself the best start?
I know the bone is soft and have read about refracture but am not sure how long I will be off work. not be able to drive?
I know you are not surgeons but any advice/info you have maybe from experience would be much appreciated.
This site has been like a life line the last 14 months.
Many Thanks Liz
