dear colleague,
We need more information before we can give you a decent answer.
What surgery has been done? Which technique and why?
How serious was the girl's scoliosis and how much was it corrected?
Is there an orthopedic protocol in your Hospital?
How is her normal physical and cognitive development?
Did she wear a brace first?
Is it a ideopathic scoliosis or one based on a neurological disorder? (important!)
Important as well are the following questions:
what treatment can she be offered?
Is there a pool to work in?
Is she being treated by more health professionals?
How is her lung function?
What possibilities do you and your colleagues have as far as expertise in scoliosis exercise methods?
What do you know about treating scoliosis in an EBM manner?
Status patient now:
What are her main problems at this moment?
Is she in a lot of pain? can she breath properly? can she move? and does she dare move?
Can she keep coming to the physio department once she has been discharged?
So you see, you need to ask yourself the following questions and share them with us... we can then go ahead and try and help.
kind regards
Esther
One suggestion I can give you now is to start reading in the following journal (free access) whenever you have time.
