I really appreciate your response concerning the spinal stenosis patient. Here’s another:
38 years old French lady, just underwent arthroplasty of the left shoulder (micro surgery) secondary to a congenital shallowing of the left glenoid carvity (slap lesion). She had undergone the same surgery about 2 years ago on the right shoulder joint. The latest surgery was done about 1month ago and she was advised on an appropriate sling. The patient is naturally left handed and really feels a need to resume work ASAP. She stopped using the sling about a week ago when she started physiotherapy. She has since had 3 sessions. Her management is predominantly passive movements/ assisted passive movt(our active range is 0-70@ the shoulder), deltoid building on the right side and some cryotherapy. The problem is she complains of so much pain that its almost impossible not to think something is wrong. What should I do. Pls ote I have examined her scapular and don’t see any thing out of the ordinary there… just the expected soreness at the medial boarder.
I would try to update this with some views of her post up shoulder x rays.
I really lookforward to your comments
thanks
