Hey,
I have a child in my care who is jus over 1 year old. He hates lying on his stomach (we think this is disliked through previous negative experiences with
acid reflux while in this position) and therefore gets little tummy time. We are gradually trying to provide more with positive experiences. He is unable to roll over while on tummy/back, he is also unable to support his weight while on his tummy. Recenty, he has began bottom shuffling around small distances. I have tried helping him into kneeling positions but it looks painful to him, I have also tried to sit him on the edge of my knee with flat feet on the ground with as little support as possible, which is okay but he does need alot of support! Also, when he is picked up/ put down his legs stay in the same position, up high in a sitting position, Even when you put him near to the ground he does not put his legs down.Mum is on board and he will be visiting professionals soon, but I know these things take time and wondered if there are any specific exercises we can do with him to help? He has had his hips checked already and a few other general things and all is okay, first the peadiatrician said it would come within time, however we are quite concerned. Any help would be great, thanks!
