    neck control.

    hello,
you can place the child in an inclined plane.that is in a head end elevated position.try stroking over the paraspinals, give fluids using straw, which facilitates cocontraction of neck musculature.you can try small jerky movements of the head and neck while holding him vertically close to your body and neck adequately supported

    Hi!
Thanks for the advice.I do try the stroking part and also vertical holding but it does not work. Also the child cannot drink (feeding is through tube.)And the head falls to either side so on the whole just supprting the head is quite an effort!she can lift her head up however she does not hold the position and does so only when called out to.She has constant chest infection and is constantly bringing up sputum(uncontrolled sprays of it),could that be the major hindrance??if i dont do something for the neck i dont think trunk control will progress well.So any more tips?
    Thanx again
