    Brief Medical History Overview

    Trampolining knee injury...

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    hey,

im a keen trampolinist, i go training for about 4/5 hours a week at two clubs and i trampoline at home regularly...
2 weeks ago i landed one of my moves awkwardly and managed to dislocate my patella, i had to go to hospital in an ambulance and they said that my knee had popped back into place so it was just going to be swelling and bruising.

ive been going to physio for the past 2 weeks since the accident, and been given some exercises to keep my quads from wasting away. like straight leg raises, static quads, and squats.

At my physio appointment today i got told that they were 99% sure ive damaged my anterior Wikipedia reference-linkcruciate ligament, and they a pretty sure ive damaged my medial collateral.

my knees lax in both areas, and its quite painfull at times.
Ive been told i wont be able to go back to trampolining for at least 3 months, and after the tests today my physiotherapist referred me to a consultant, at physio they said i might have to have an operation...

i was wondering, if i do have an operation- will i be able to trampoline again any time soon?
and will my knee ever be back to "normal"

even if i dont have to go through surgery, does anybody know if there are any exercises i can do to regain the flexibilty back in my hamstring (its already quite tight) , and any exercises that i could do to strengthen my knee before i go back to trampolining?

    all comments welcome

    J.
p.s. sorry this is so long winded!
