Brief Medical History Overview
Football injury - Problem with groin/stomach
Hi all,
Im a 25 yr old healthy male who usually plays football 2 - 3 times a week, i work as a mechanical fitter which is a quite physically demanding job.
Back in january, one night after a busy day at work where i had been doing lots of lifting etc... i felt i had maybe strained a muscle in my stomach, it was a dull ache not causing me too many problems so i went to play football as usual, during the game i felt a sharp shooting pain through my groin, i finished the game and afterwards i was in a bit of pain over the following week.
I knew i had done some damage so decided to rest for about 3 weeks, i tried a bit light jogging then sprinting and felt ok so went to football, i warmed up for about 20 mins prior to the game and was ok running but the first time i struck the ball i felt the pain come back, stupidly i finished the game and then ended up back to square one!
I have since rested (about a month) and once again feel fine running but tried to kick a ball and can feel the pain come back again in my groin but also a dull uncomfortable ache in my stomach,
I can't feel any lumps so don't think its a hernia, i am going to make an appointment with the doctor but i know they aren't as clued up as phyisio's so any help/advice would be grateful,
Many thanks for taken the time to read this post,
cheers
