Difference in Fysio with Hernia - Operated and NOT operated

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi there,

Can anyone tell me the different approach a physiotherapist should take with a back Hernia patient (L5) depending on whether he has been operated or not.

See attached an MRI picture, a week before the physio.

I had a very bad experience with a physiotherapist that may have treated me as if I was operated and caused me to have to lie down again flat for days, unable to move, and with great pain.

Surely you would treat an unoperated hernia with more care then an operated one, where the outward nucleus has been removed and the risks of renewed symptoms are less?

Any answer would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

ps Back on my feet now and not planning to sue anyone!
