broken humerus

i broke my humerus 9 weeks ago in 3 places. I had it pinned and plated and was sent home in a sling. The sling was removed after 7 weeks and now my arm will not move down from the elbow. I have lost all strength in the arm and cannot lift it on its own, that is lifting it upwards or to the side etc. The pain in my shoulder is extreme as the surgeon went in there first to try and put a rod down my bone. I have had no physio and am still waiting is there anything you can suggest for me to do as I am in so much pain but am seriously in need of getting it moving again for work.

how long does it take to rcover from proximal humerus plating? Mine was done 9 months ago and am still getting a lot of discomfort, now having problems with cramping of left hand.
