    Brief Medical History Overview

    Post Ankle Athroscopy Physio

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi,

A bit of background, I went over on my right ankle playing badminton doing a jump smash and landing with all my weight on my right leg. The ankle rolled over and I believe there was ligament damage to the ankle. After several months of physio I made progress which then plateau'd. I found it painful stretching my right leg forward as I would get pain at the front of my ankle and pain on my inside ankle bone (not sure the technical name but its the round bone that sticks out). After continuing with physio and showing no signs tof improvement the surgeon finally agreed that surgery was the only option after nearly two years since the original injury. They treated me with fooballers ankle and I have now had an ankle athroscopy. I have been told to come back for physio after 2 weeks which I thought seemed to be a long time away. Is it not usual that physio should start soon after ie. 2 days after surgery? I can weight bear on my right foot after surgery and just want to do all that I can to get it back to how it used to be. Are there any excercises that anyone can recommend in the meantime.

    Many thanks for any responses.

    Cheers
