    Brief Medical History Overview

    Webber Type C Ankle Fracture

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hi All,
On the 04-12-09 I had a large cable hit my right ankle at work. See attached pics/xrays. I was transported to my local hospital where the doctor did some manipulation to my ankle then supported it (even with gas that was painful). I think that I dislocated the talus, but cannot be sure. I was then transported to another hospital for ORIF. I didnt really have to many questions for the OS when I originally had surgery and also after the 2 week visit where I had the back slab cast and stitches removed. I now have a light weight cast on and non-weight bearing for another 4 weeks. I go back to get an xray with no cast and then he will determine if I need another cast or boot. So at this stage its been 3 weeks and I am starting to wonder if I may suffer any long term effects. Is there anything that I can do to speed up my recovery or limit the long term effects. A friend of mine suggested taking Herron Osteoeze Active + MSM to help with the joint healing process, would this help? The pain is sometimes overwhelming when I get on crutches for more than 10 minutes (which is not very often). Approximately when will the pain start to decrease when on crutches? what are the chances of damage to tissue and ligaments with this type of injury, and if so when will I know about it?
Any help would be appreciated. I have not been able to find much information on long term effects of webber type C fractures.
    Cheers
