    Brief Medical History Overview

    Hamstring Pop

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I woke up a few mornings ago with a tight hamstring and didn't think much of it and went to play my football match anyway. Don't know if this is related by at the start of the match, I tried to run and my legs gave way on me (very strange!). Then about 20 mins in I was running and felt my hamstring pop. Was very painful. I tried to keep running but the pain was unbearable.
Any advice or ideas how long until I'll be able to play again?

Get it checked out by a physio - preferably a sports or musculoskeletal physio.

It may be you pulled the hamstring but as it was "tight" before the event there might be more going on. Sometimes it isn't the hamstrings but the sciatic nerve that runs deep to the hamstrings gets involved. When this is the case the rehab and recovery is more complex. Certainly don't try running on it until you get is sorted out. As for the longer term you may need some assistance to get you there but usually you can get back to the game. But get some help
