Hello everyone, this is my first post in this forum. A few months ago I tore my calf muscle playing basketball. The doctor did not tell me what grade the strain was but I was not able to put any weight on it for the first few days, and I was on crutches for a couple weeks. After 6 weeks, I returned to playing basketball. I was able to jump and job without pain, however I could not sprint without limping. Not because of any pain but more because I was just scared to try.

I played once a week for 2 weeks and everything was fine. After the third week my calf began to hurt a little so I took another week off. I tried to play again yesterday and once again I have a little pain in my calf.In addition to the pain the muscle also feels tight, especially in the cold mornings, and I also feel a slight twinge now and then when walking.

Should I stop playing all together for another few weeks or is this normal? When I do play I am usually just jogging up and down and jumping. I do not sprint at all. I also stretch before playing...but not after. Thanks ahead of time for your advice!
