    Brief Medical History Overview

    Foot pain

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I recently starting rope jumping fairly intensely after a few weeks at low intensity.

However, i recently developed a, really quite debilitating, foot pain. The pain has reached the point now where i have to limp, to avoid my foot lifting onto the ball of the foot (point at which pain is greatest).

The pain is on the top of the foot and is sharp and localised (middle of foot, over the metatarsal/s it also aches when its rested, with occasional shooting pains.

I was not to bothered as it only occurred during skipping now its affecting my walking, which is pretty fundamental.

    Can anyone help?

    Dan

    Re: Foot pain

    Any ideas?

I've still got the annoying bugger in my foot, seems to get better after sleep only to be re-hurt during the day.

    Re: Foot pain

According to the details provide by you it is very simple to identify that these are symptoms of stress fracture on the metatarsal. It is basically caused due to repetitive stress on the bone, the third and second metatarsals are mostly affected. Decreased density of the bone, abnormal foot structure and increased hill running activities are few other causes for this fracture. A good way of getting rid from this foot pain is using a good massager on regular basis, I would recommend OSIM uSqueez warm a foot massager with great features like warm air technology which helps improve blood circulation and inbuilt foot rollers to deliver a foot reflexology massage which helps alleviate muscle aches by stimulating all the vital acupressure points. Other important things you should take care of are wearing a running shoe with a stiffer sole, wrap the foot in a tensor bandage with moderate compression.

    dear Dan,

It seems that brendon is interested in selling you some products. I must agree with him/her though. It could be a stress fracture. Only way to find out if this is the case is to have a Xray taken. I would suggest going to a sports physiotherapist and taking your shoes with you.
Good advice can only be given by a healthprofessional who has assessed you properly first.
    Good luck

    Esther
