Brief Medical History Overview
Chronic Hamstring Strain
2 months ago I posted on here about a hamstring strain, which from all my reading and research appeared to be grade 1 i.e. minor. I had very knotted hamstrings, and had sports massage which made it worse - it became inflamed, tender and made me hobble about.
In the past two months (still awaiting NHS physio) - I have got an electric bike so I can get around. I have gradually been able to do gentle stretches, have continued with sports massage for last 4 weeks on surrounding muscles.
However, it appears that I have a chronic strain, which eases off one day, but then will become inflamed if I stand or walk a little too much. I can stand for a while, walk a short distance, but it tires and gets sore. I am using ice, ibuprofen tablets and gel. They help.
Should I try using a bandage for a while to support the minor strain and take pressure off? I am trying to be mobile to some degree and am mainly on my electric bike which does not require peddaling. I can swim, as long as I don't use my left leg.
Many thanks.
