Hi people!

Basically, I've been having problems with my right ankle for years now after several years of playing a decent standard of football.

No doctor (I've been to 6) has ever come up with a solution to the problem. I then thought back to when the pain first began, and a doc said that I might have to 'resprain' my ankle in order to re-align the mentioned ligament, as it was in the wrong place (or something like that). From what I understand, the ligament was torn off (could be mistaken), and 'manipulated' (again could be wrong) in order to align correctly.

Anyway, I had the procedure done, 5 weeks and 1 day ago now, and I'm currently in a cast. Due to a mix up in dates, I was supposed to have it taken off yesterday, but now have to wait until next week.

A few questions.

1. Would I be able to take it off myself now? My Physio seems to want to get me in one of those big boots you see footie players in for a week or two.

2. If I did take it off myself, could I begin putting a tiny bit of weight on it? And should I begin doing mobility exercises straight away?

Thanks!
