    Brief Medical History Overview

    Kneecap Dislocation

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I dislocated my kneecap (popped out then straight back in) playing indoor netball a week and a half ago. I went to the physio about 4 times and the knee was a lot better, was able to lock it straight with minimal pain and hopping on the leg was fine.
The physio said I should give playing a go again as I wasn't having much pain from it.
So I played, as soon as I did a take off in running i felt it twinge from fully extending my leg, I though I should go in an easier position with not much running so I played goal shoot. I was fine for a quarter then on catching the ball and doing a split and twist my leg collapsed under me again, I don't think I fully dislocated it the 2nd time but it definitely went out of place a bit.
So now... I'm back to where I started, its swollen again just after the swelling had finally disappeared and painful to bend/straighten.
    My queries are...

-How long should the recovery time be before I can play again? There is a lot of twisting and jumping involved with netball.
-How long till I can start running? (I need some form of exercise).
-Should I see a doctor about it as well as a physio?
-What are some exercises to strengthen my inner quad quickly? (the physio suggested half squats and balancing on 1 leg, but wondering if there is a better/faster method?)

    Thank you!

    Re: Kneecap Dislocation

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
    hey friend,
you are much on the track regarding your queries only thing is that the exercise 1 we should concentrate on fixing of your knee cap if its dislocated
2 with the use of taping and knee cap supporter support the knee
3 go for long sitting keeping your knee straight, support your knee with towel rod after that press it so u will work on your VMO (vastus medius obliques) very crucial exercise.
and as you asked how its reoccur so its saying that there will be always 1 step to 2 step u can't jump from 1st to 10th or so on. so what u have written balancing and single leg exercise is advance level exercise so u initially continue with this and let me know your progression i'll guide u properly okay
