Re: dislocated ankle fractured tibia and fractured biamalleor

Hi, This sounds quite similar to what I did (broke my fib and tib and dislocated my foot). After the short pot I had an aircast but was stil none weight baring for 3 months after my injury. I then had the bolt/large screw removed during a day surgery. After that I was told I could weight bare in the aircast once I wasn't so sore anymore. I felt fairly confident and could walk a few days after surgery. That was April and I can walk now although I don't have the full range of motion etc back yet. I can't run or walk quickly for a long period.

I don't know how the lack of blood supply will affect your recovery but you sound to be in a pretty similar situation to me. I kept my foot elevated as much as possible and that really helped with the swelling and stuff too.

    Hope you get better soon

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
If you google air cast you'll see it's also called a walking boot. it looks like a part of a storm trooper's armou but you can take it off to shower etc. Is it a through the joint screw? I was told mine had to be removed incase it breaks but I guess all cases are different! Yeah it was really painful especially post-op I just woke up screaming on morphine. Fun! I got knocked over in a club which sounds rediculous for such a serious injury. Bouncers and a and e staff all thought I was being a bit mellow dramatic and I'd just sprained it... Til they x-rayed it that was! Hope you're healing well and managing to keep it elevated that worked wonders for taking the swelling down.
