Good day everyone,

I'm training to be a professional handbalancer and all was going well until two and half months ago when I started experiencing pain/discomfort on the dorsal side of the wrist during axial loading (In a handstand).

I rested for six weeks and returned to training with no immediate pain. After three weeks, the injury returned and I feel as though I'm back where I started. I'm travelling at the moment and cannot afford a visit to the physio for a proper diagnosis as I normally would do. Online, there is plenty of mention of cortisone shots (which I would like to avoid unless they can do something aside from relieving pain) and surgery to fix this but I failed to find any preventative or rehabiliatory measures to address the root of the problem.

The pain only affects me during handstands and gymnastic flares and is not severe but worsens with continued training which I have stopped once more.

Thank you all for your time,

Richard
