    Brief Medical History Overview

    Ankle Injury

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
I was running for a ball in a game and went right over my ankle, it made a crunch sound when this happened, but i didnt think it was anything serious.

It was extremely sore when i first done it, but the pain wore off while i kept playing. It wasnt untill like 10pm that it was agony to move it in any direction and the following morning it was pretty badly swollen and bruised near the bottom of my foot.

The swelling has eased now on the ankle but its still got some swelling on it - i find it totally fine to walk, but certain movements really hurt it and i havnt tried running yet. Like if i am sitting down and get back up - my entire foot feels really weak and sore for the first couple of steps - then its fine.

This happened 2 weeks yesterday. Anyone got any advice or any idea how long i'll be out for?

    Re: Ankle Injury

    Aircast Airselect Short Boot
i play soccer and injured my right ankle badly while blocking a short from an opposition player. I slid in and he pulled the trigger with my ankle on one side of the ball. He kicked the ball from the other side very ferociously. immediately i felt huge pain in my foot and ankle which swelled. X ray was fine but i could not walk on the injured foot for probably a week. within 3 weeks i felt a bit better and started playing again wearing a brace (even though the swelling had not gone and i felt discomfort while accelerating) and the pain started to increase again. I realized my mistake a decided to rest again and played once after 2 weeks twice ( 2 times a month). currently i am resting.. the problem is that when i try to exert more weight on the ankle (eg when trying to stretch the calf musle) i feel some pain on the back side on the right and the left ankles of the right foot. 3 months have passed since the injury and the swelling on the right ankle has not gone entirely. usually i have no problem in running or jogging but the swelling increases after such activities. and also while kicking the ball i fell some pain in the achilles tendon.

what should be done get rid of this troublesome problem
