    Brief Medical History Overview

    Ankle soreness after broken leg

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
    Hello to all members.
I broke my tib and fib and had operation to insert a rod into my shin held in place by 5 screws.Operation date was 4 July .
I have been back at work on light duties for 3 weeks .
The problem is that first thing in the morning I can barely move my ankle due to stiffness .This lasts for about half an hour .Also the pain / stiffness appears to be getting gradually worse .
I was at the fracture clinic last week and consultant said to put as much weight through it as i can withstand but it seems like I'm going backwards in my recovery .Can anyone shed any light on this please?

I think you have developed an arthritic joint...quite common after lower leg traumas...you will need to be assessed for how you walk now...a podiatrist or physio can be of help...
do you still use a walking aid? what can of work do you do? have you seen a physio?
