A few days ago I injured my ankle. I twisted inside a divit in the ground. I was able to walk on it and had some pain, but not excruciating. It eventually swelled some, not severe, and the discoloration ended in a few days.
The first day I went to Right Time medicine, a clinic, and they xrayed it. The xray came back negative.
The next day I was able to walk fairly well and even stand on the leg. The swelling reduced.
Yet I still went to an orthopedic. He would not take the xrays from the Right time and said they weren't reliable. He said I had some type of fracture. I got put in a walking boot. The weird thing about it is that they did not put fracture on the one of the sheets I took home. I asked someone to ask the doctor what the diagnosis was and he said it wasn't a fracture. He only spent a few minutes with me. Then I look again at the sheet and it says orthopedic code for a lateral malleolus closed.
It seems this orthopedic keeps changing his story. So yet I am still in this boot.
If I really had this lateral malleolus injury would I be able to stand on that foot without pain for 10 seconds straight? I can. Would I be able to walk with little pain? When I looked at the original xray, nothing looked out of place, but then again I'm no expert.
I've later heard that this orthopod does not have a good reputation and I even talked to someone personally who told me horror stories about this doctor.
I guess I should get a third opinion on this.
