I fractured my upper shin bone, the tibia I believe it to be. The doctor put a plate and about 10 pins to support the fracture. I'm still inside of 30 days, at about 26 days since the accident. Two weeks ago the doctor said I can put about 35lbs of weight on the leg, but still use the crutches as much as possible. The last 3 days or so I've been putting about 90% weight on it and It feels fine. Tons of self therapy at home from what I read, and almost all of the tightness in my calf and ankle has depleted. I feel as if I should be walking with 100% weight bearing. When I saw the doctor last, and x-rays were taken; he said the alignment was looking as good as new. I guess what I'm getting at, is it possible to feel almost back to normal while walking but still risk throwing off the alignment of the bone? Being inside of 30 days I don't want to backtrack here and throw the bone alignment off. I feel no pain while walking, other than some tightness in the Achilles at times, it almost feels as it did before the break. Am I at much risk? I don't see the doctor for a couple more weeks and was looking for some information in the meantime. I'm 21 years of age and I'm in awesome shape. Gym multiple times a week including lots of running. Thanks in advance to anyone who gives their input on the situation.
