6 and a half weeks ago, I fell during a roller derby practice resulting in an undisplaced crack in the radial head of my right arm. I was put in a sling for 4 weeks and then given some physio exercises. I have made an appointment to see a private physio this Friday. However I wanted to ask some advice here too. I've been told I'm 15 degrees, 5 degrees, and 10-20 degrees off full extension by different doctors/physios, so I'm confused as to what is correct. I can only just bend to touch my shoulder and only with pushing using my other arm. I'd like to return to roller derby (contact skating sport) so I wondered if I could have some advice on strengthening and effective physio, please? Thank you.

I would suggest you discuss your questions regarding your radial head fracture with your treating physiotherapist. Range of motion measurements can vary for an injury from day to day depending on a variety of factors such as the level of aggravation / swelling etc. in addition measurements will vary depending on the measuring method used (e.g. visual / goniometer etc.) and between practitioners based on anatomical land marks used. Hope that helps,
