I am a right handed golfer having some left hip pain. The pain has come on the last couple of weeks and I'm not sure the cause. The exact location seems a bit tough to pin point. It is not painful to the touch that I can find, but certainly is to certain movements. Generally it is painful at the impact of the golf ball and continues to the follow through.

BACKGROUND: I have always felt like my hip is double jointed. I can sort of push my hip away from the center of my body and it kind of pops out.

If I lay on my back with my right leg flat on the floor and straight out and take my left leg and bend it at a 45 degree angle and let it fall flat to the floor on the left where my hip feels open, it is very painful to then try and lift up my leg from that position.

I am in search of a stretch to help work through this pain. I have been rolling the sore area on a foam roller.

Can anybody help shed light on this for me? Is it my IT Band?

Thank you!

Frank
