Hi, I am a personal trainer and bodybuilder and for the past 6 months i have had this mild pain through my left front delt, i went to see my phsio and he said its close to the bicep but said ''it wasnt his speciality and couldnt help me''. I started feeling the pain only when i done exercises such as front delt raise especially on the eccentric part, and eventually incline dumbbell press hurt too much to do the exercise at all and now even any sort of chest press including push ups, i do not feel it with shoulder presses other than upright rows however. I tried fully resting from BB for 2 weeks with no lifting and full rest on my shoulder, i went to my first day back yesterday withou lifting heavy at all, just good technique, i tried a few exercises of pec fly and one lightish set of dumbbell press, and even though it didnt really hurt at the time, when i woke up this morning i felt it sore and mildly painful, so i have just iced it for 20 minutes, what is my problem? what can i do?

Hello there,
I do feel that Physiotherapy ought to be able to help you here.We are all in different areas of expertise so I would recommend that you go to a GP initially and explain the history. He may recommend that you have an ultrasound scan to see if there is any tendon damage. He should also think in terms of referring you to a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who can examine you properly and give you advice as to which exercise you should be doing (or not doing) if there is an injury there. Ultrasound imaging can be very useful in determining which structure is at fault.
I can't give further advice without assessing it.
Hope this helps
