5 and a half weeks ago I hyperextended my bifurcate ligament and sustained a grade 3 tear of my medial ligament in my right ankle during a tackle playing football for my university. Initially and after a week and half on crutches on the advice of the hospital, i was informed that i would be back to full fitness and ready for contact sports within 6 weeks. However it is obvious to me that although i can now jog on it, i am nowhere near kicking anything or even sprinting as predicted as such activities cause real pain and subsequent aching. Are there any stretches or excercises to speed up recovery time for my ankle? Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
