    Re: Pubic Symphysis dislocation Management

How did this injury occur? Perhaps a bit more of a medical history would be a good start for us to ask more questions around her issue. I might suggest though that some form of pelvic stabilisation belt could assist reduce her discomfort as a short term intervention while things heal. Is the pelvic alignment as it should be? If not correcting that may reduce her discomfort.

I will move this to the patient corner section which will allow you to edit and add a medical history questionnaire. Click on the link in the yellow box above 'To improve this thread please click here to complete your medical summary questionnaire'

She was sitting behind her B.F's scooty and fell. No other medical history.

Pelvic alignment is fine. She is conscious as she does not want to aggravate it.

    Thanks.
I would like to comment on something. How can you say that the pelvis is aligned while the Pubis has a misalignment (<5mm) while the reference points (pubis is one) are all part of the pelvis. In the case of Pubis misalignment there should be a misalignment to the ASIS, PSIS, Tuber Ischias and Sacrum positioning (possibly all misaligned but likely some, and the flexion test possibly positive). The way of injury would strongly suggest the possibility of misalignment.
    I am just curious
