    Brief Medical History Overview

Age: 33, Male, Presenting Problem Since: Since Feb 2012 almost year and Half, Symptom Behaviour: Remaining Constant or getting worst. Don't even know initial pain rating., Symptoms Worse (24hr Behaviour): Yes worst at night and in morning. During day it stays same if i don't do anything to make it worst., Aggravating Factors:: Using right hand. Gripping anything. Pulling or weight lifting even 5 kg would be enough to create pain., Easing Factors:: I am using Steam Therapy. Using steam out of Presser cooker and applying that steam directly on elbow suing pipe for 15 min two to three times a day. And it help a lot but as soon as i stop it for two to three days all pain come back as it was before., Investigations: XRay, MRI, Ultrasound, Bone Scan. ALl and everything is normal., No Diabetes, No history of High Blood Pressure, Medications: Naprosyn and Tendocare ( i have only for 1 month) will be finished in 1 week., No Osteoporosis, No Hx of Cancer, No Unexplained Weight Loss, No Bowel/Bladder issues, Other Info: No.

    Major problem / Symptomatic Areas

Elbow, Forearm - Anterior - Right

Thumbs down Right Elbow (Golfer's Elbow) Problem

    Physical Agents In Rehabilitation
While working i guess (But really not sure) that i hit a door handle in dark in shop. and that was in Jan-Feb 2012 and since then there is pain. Initially i ignored it until it reached unbearable point and then after 3 or 4 months later i have seen doctor about same and he gave me hydro cortisone injection and pain went away then and there and i got back to my normal duties as told by doctor to do so.

but after two months pain came back as what was before hydro cortisone injection(Unbearable) i went to doctor again and he gave me another hydro cortisone injection. same thing i went back to normal duties and again pain came back in month and half time.

This time doctor sent me to rheumatologist and he got my x-ray, Ultrasound, MRI, and bone scan done. But everything was normal as there is no bone fracture or no tear of ligaments or any tissue or tendon tear.

    so they started physio therapy.

physio started giving me some massage and put some bandage on hand.

Initially it felt good. but was not improving condition. he started doing dry needling work as well. but was not much improvement.

so he gave me another Ultrasound Guided hydro cortisone injection.

this time this injection worked almost two months.

During this two months i have done nothing. Nothing means no work, no lifting, just sitting home doing nothing.

Physio was doing his dry needling on me.

But one day suddenly, my pain was from 0 to 10 in just one day.

physio called me in to inspect and he said every was normal and he couldn't understand what happened.

but this time again same as previous two injection, after two month i went back to normal pain.

so three hydro-cortisone injection didn't work on me.

then i have changed physio therapist and also consulted Orthopedics surgeon.

Orthopedics said you just have to wait and see.

there is nothing can be done about this condition.
i have waited almost year and half and where i am right now is worst then i have started...

when i started it was not that painful but now i have more pain then i have started.

So i don't understand what is going on.

One more thing i want add on that is:

when all the imaging taken such as x-ray, MIR and Ultrasound, at that time i had pain when i use my hand. So if i don't do anything then i don't feel any pain.

but during last Hydro-cortisone injection, dry needling has cause some extra damage in my hand which after we never taken any imaging.

and now i feel constant pain. and now at night time it is worst. sometime when i wake up and try to move my arm i feel like 10 pain in my hand.

so i am in middle of no where in my pain improvement.

I am using Pain Killer called Naprosyn two times a day and its creating stomac upset but still i am using it and also helping me to reduce pain.

i am also using Tendocare which they claim to recreate tendon threads (i haven't seen any improvements but still i want to try for month)

and also i am using Murivenna Indian Aruvedic Oil for Tendon Stimulation and pain reducing purpose.

Apart from i am vising Physio since year or so but there is no improvement so far.

I have done Xray ( NO Fracture Found)
MRI ( No torn tissue or tendon tear found)
    Bone scan ( Nothing Abnormal)

and still if you need any more details and if i have i will Provide.

Please help me to get better..

    Thanks IN Advance

    Nalin.

Re: Right Elbow (Golfer's Elbow) Problem

    Hi,
Where is the place where you hit the door handle? at wrist or forearm or elbow? did you have any swelling , edema after that little incident? The strength in your muscles that flexes and extend the elbow is the same like in the other limb? Does your joint feel stiffed?
How would you describe the pain? Sharp, stabbing, dull, burning?
If you touch your arm with something warm hot does it feel the same like on the other limb? or if feels more intense/less intense?
How is the skin on your affected limb? Is pale or red, or cyanotic, is your forearm warm?
    How are the nails?
Did they do to you any rheumatic blood tests?

There is a condition called algoneurodystrophy which could be but.. you should be assessed for that and meanwhile you can read about it on internet.
Maybe have a check again to the doctor , to see the integrity of your nerves or if you have any rheumatic condition.

I hope I helped you somehow.

    Cya

Re: Right Elbow (Golfer's Elbow) Problem

Where is the place where you hit the door handle?
In elbow near that bony part.

did you have any swelling , edema after that little incident?
No never. There wasn't any visible swelling but when i visited physio he said there is swelling on tendon and to reduce he made me to do few exercise and heat and cold packs etc..

The strength in your muscles that flexes and extend the elbow is the same like in the other limb?

    No. Strength is very less.

    Does your joint feel stiffed?
Yes. now i feel pain in elbow and just bellow in muscles toward hand ( i mean not in upper part but lower part of the hand)
How would you describe the pain? Sharp, stabbing, dull, burning?
    Dull Pain.

If you touch your arm with something warm hot does it feel the same like on the other limb? or if feels more intense/less intense?

It feel numb and it feel less intense. When i apply steam on that affect point i feel completely different feeling. Like something inside arm is getting warm and in few second i dont feel that pain at all. Like pain disappear.

How is the skin on your affected limb? Is pale or red, or cyanotic, is your forearm warm?
Skin is normal. by looking at skin you cannot say any different or you can locate affected area at all.

    How are the nails?
    Perfectly Normal.

Did they do to you any rheumatic blood tests?
Yes I dont know how to send you that result but i have all the blood test, MRI, Xray and Bone scan results. Please give me your email or some way to send you Reports.

I have done Nerves test as well and that is normal. Nothing abnormal in Nevers system.

I know how discouraging injuries can be, especially nagging golfer's elbow. My advice for treatment includes the dreaded “Ice, ibuprofen, and rest” coupled with some old-school strengthening exercises (e.g. squeezing balls). if no relief, i would suggest you seek advice from an experienced orthopedic doctor.
