Hello,
I suffer from Muscular Dystrophy (type FSH), I am in an electric wheelchair, with a ventilator for breathing, a feeding tube and I can't make my transfers myself, I use a lift.
In 2009, I fell sick with an asymptomatic pneumonia and almost lost my life. I ended up in the ER, bed ridden for about 3 months.
After recovering a bit, I started sitting in my chair again.
However, since that time, I have vertigo 24/7, it stabilize when I dont move my head.
I had vestibular physio therapy, with a team of 3 physiotherapist, they moved me around the bed to trigger the vertigo and fix the problem.
However, because of my physical condition, it was quite painful and difficult to do the exercises.
The results of these treatments was that it lowered the amount of vertigo I experience.
But it did not fix it because the exercises cannot be executed properly with my condition.
I was thinking that a special table that would vertically tilt me rapidly could do the trick.
Also, the table would need to enable me to "turn" rapidly from one side to another.
What solutions are there for patients like me?
I can't live like this anymore, I have constant nausea and some days I just cannot function at all, this has gone on for years now
Please let me know if something can be done, I live in Quebec, Canada.
Thanks!
